After much deliberation the miNt DotA team has decided to call it a day and disband. The team had a great 2009 season managing to acquire 10 top 5 placings, having taken the gold home on four occasions. Having been with the organisation from the very start, everyone at miNt Gaming is a little sad to see the "nerd heard" leaving.
Well its been a good 3 years with sSs (and since 2009, miNt). We've achieved all of what we wanted to and had a great time, but with waz leaving the clanny scene and the rest of us being so inactive since KotH we have decided it's time to call it. I personally have decided to join dedA - seeing as it's an all-capetown clan, but good luck to the rest of the starting lineup (waz_mac, mrasssman, lemon-grass) and players we've picked up along the way (kspr, valprax) in whatever they choose to do.
Thanks guys!
( Shoutout to all ex-members and/or subs: sagie, swissroll, mouth, blizzy, shambles, nakedpengwin, documentary.)

The team will be sorely missed by all, we would like to wish James luck as he starts his journey with dedA, as well as the rest of the team with their future weather they decide to carry on gaming or not it was an honour to be amongst such legends.

CS:S Loses one, Gains one
CS:S Loses one, Gains one
After a few days in the team Leslie "UnKnowN" Greenwood has decided to part ways to play for the new soViet lineup with a few of his former asceNt teammates. Nothing to fear, however, as within a few days we have found a more than suitable replacement who will be in the starting lineup and will be a solid part of the team up until rAge this year.
Replacing UnKnowN will be Hadlee "kOnvict" Smith, a former player from teams such as virtue, bravado and, for a brief period, Pantheon. Hadlee has competed in many major local tournaments such as Kode5, ESWC and rAge. He is known largely for his AWPing ability and has been regarded as one of the best in the SA CS scene. With such an experienced player now a part of miNt.CSS, the team will be looking to finish at the top this year, with all of its members having at least 5 years of competitive experience each. This is shaping up to be be an interesting year for the new lineup.

CSProMod is finally here
CSProMod is finally here
The wait is finally over, the game that has promised to bring both the Counter-Strike: Source and Counter-Strike 1.6 communities together in hope of creating a bigger, better more competitive community. Tonight at 08:00pm CAT, CSPromod 1.04 which is said to be the first "stable" version, was made available to the public.
Within seconds the cspromod website was flooded with thousands of eager gamers waiting to see what the future of Counter-Strike would look like. Unfortunately due to the amount of people downloading the game the csp website took incredibly long to load, and hence not everybody could download the game at once. Thanks must go out to FragtioN who has set up a local download link for South Africans who would like to download the game (which is free).
Here are the relevant websites relating to CSPromod:
Later today Quik_Shot, the organiser of the One Night Cup, will be releasing the roster based on pre-Rage AGASA 2009 league seedings. The usual suspects, Brazen, Pantheon, miNt, Prodigy, BFB and UBS are all among the teams competing, along with a number of newcomers that did not participate in AGASA 2009. Notably absent are Synergy Gaming, who's leader has been affected by copper cable thieves and All Star Personnel, who disbanded after the Brazen One Night Cup. The single elimination tournament will commence on Sunday at 18:00 and should finish before 23:00 if all goes according to plan.
Prizes this time around will be sponsored by Afrihost, with the winners walking away with 5 gigabytes of international bandwidth per player while the runners up will receive 3 gigabytes of international bandwidth per player. This amounts to a total of R1160 in prizes for the tournament and allows players to win back bandwidth used to compete as well as a respectable amount more.
More information can be found at the Saix Gaming Service forums thread relating to the tournament, Forum Thread and BFB Gaming.
The AGASA managed Do Gaming league registrations have been open for a little over six days with 47 teams signed up so far for the various games.
Call of Duty 4 has seen the vast majority of entrants with 36 teams currently registered and another 2 weeks remaining before registrations close. A number of the more renowned and top performing teams are notably absent at this stage, thus these numbers are assured to grow.
An old favourite of the league, Counter-strike: Source follows with the second largest number of registrations, with 10 teams currently signed up. Counter-strike: Source teams are known to be rather late up takers when it comes to registering for AGASA, as was visible last year with the vast majority of teams only signing up with a few days remaining until registrations closed. It is rather encouraging to see better response from the CSS community, with further registrations sure to come.
The other two games hosted in February, Heroes of Newerth and Team Fortress 2, have only 1 and 0 registrations respectively. Battlefield Bad Company 2 will be appearing in March/April and is sure to garner large amounts of attention since Battlefield 2 has been dropped from this years supported games and a number of Call of Duty 4 teams already indicating their interest.
Registrations for the 4 supported titles end on the 11th February with the official start being the 14th February. Visit Do Gaming League to set up your team and register for South Africa’s largest online gaming league.
It is with great pleasure to announce that we have finished our lineup ever since the departure of anthem late last year, after rAge. We see James "zer0ch4nce" Wijnberg return home early from America, Dillon "uNreal" Jost, Daniel "merc" Balusik and Kline "zound" Moralee all returning to play.
With that said the Counter-Strike: Source team would like to welcome the two new additions to the team Leslie "UnKnowN" Greenwood and Andrew "SolidCake" Cyster , with this year being the main game of choice in the Do Gaming league, we will hopefully be able to improve on last years 5th placing at the Do Gaming rAge Championships.
Both players have had successful Counter-Strike: Source careers so far and with such experience in the lineup the team will surely prove their worth and show why they should be regarded as one of the greatest Counter-Strike: Source teams the South African Gaming scene has ever seen.
2010 lineup:
James "zer0ch4nce" Wijnberg (captain)
Dillon "uNreal" Jost (Vice-Captain)
Kline "zound" Moralee
Leslie "UnKnowN" Greenwood
Andrew "SolidCake" Cyster
Daniel "merc" Balusik
